Our vision is a statement of what it looks like to grow as a Christian:
Growth starts in the fertile soil of the Good News of Jesus. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.” Jesus gave his perfect life in exchange for our sin; and on the cross, he took the death penalty we deserve.
The Bible says that we grow in Christ the same way we received Him… by God’s grace through faith in Jesus.
“As you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving” (Col 2.6-7).
Growing as a Christian means that we are “Resting in the Good News of Jesus.”
We rest because there is no condemnation or guilt for those who are rooted in Jesus, and we rest because all of it is a free gift of God to us!
As we are Resting in the Good News of Jesus, we will experience growth through the work of God’s Word and Spirit in our lives.
“Speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into Him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love” (Eph 4:15-16).
Growing as a Christian means that we are “Restoring Relationships.”
The whole purpose of God for humanity is that we would know him, love him and in turn know and love others. God’s wants us to speak the Truth to one another in the context of loving relationships.
As we are Resting in the Good News of Jesus and Restoring Relationships, we will see the blossoming of God’s ultimate plan for his people. God is not just changing our lives, but He is using us to change the whole world.
“Thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere. For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing” (2 Cor 2:14-15).
Growing as a Christian means that we are “Renewing our World.”
Our hope is that you will be rooted in Jesus and established in the faith, abounding in thanksgiving especially as we gather for Weekly Worship. Our hope is that you will grow by speaking the truth in love (and hearing it too), especially as we live life together in our Community Groups. Our hope is that you will be the aroma of Christ as you live your life day to day, especially as we serve together and carry the Good News of Jesus to the World.
