Community Groups
What are Community Groups at Redeemer?
Community Groups at Redeemer are the primary place where we seek to live out one of our Core Values, True Community.
Operating on a three-year cycle, they begin as groups of 12-15 people (including children) which seek to serve several important purposes: Instruction in the Truth, Experience of the Body of Christ, Intimacy in Relationships, Assimilation into Redeemer and Preparation of New Leadership. Read more about these GOALS here.
Why should I be involved in a Community Group?
Whether we sense it or not, we all desperately need intimate and significant relationships—a place to be real, honest and free from fear; a place where we can be understood; a place where other people can get involved in our lives; a place to serve and be served; a place to experience a few of the relationships that God desires we would experience in abundance; a place to live in genuine relationships.
Most of us do not have such a place in our lives. It is our desire that Community Groups at Redeemer would provide that place: an environment where we can learn how to love one another in the context of genuine relationships. Read more about this VISION here.
Who can come to a Community Group?
Community Groups are open to any and all: young and old, married and single, seasoned grandparents and weary brand new parents, whole families!
Members, regular attenders and visitors are all welcomed and encouraged to be actively involved in a group.
What do you do at a Community Group?
No two groups look exactly alike. While there are consistent things that all groups do (some form of Bible study, fellowship, prayer, service to one another and the community, teaching children, etc.), each group will look a little different in how those elements are played out. Read more about the CORE VALUES of our community groups here.
Where do they meet?
Our Community Groups meet in peoples' homes throughout Northern Greenville County.
When do they meet?
Unless otherwise indicated, all groups meet on Sunday evenings, from 6 to 8. The third Sunday of every month, however, Community Groups do not meet. Instead, we re-gather as a whole congregation for Corporate Worship at 6pm.
