As we learn to rest in the Good News of Jesus, our relationship with God and others is strengthened and enriched. The church can be a messy place to experience relationships, and many people have experienced great heartache in the church. However, as we see in the New Testament, the gospel has direct implications for our relationships.

“We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother”
(1 John 4:19-21).
In community groups, we seek to restore relationships by putting into practice the good news of Jesus’ love for us. Community Groups represent a cross-section of the entire church, including children and teens. This provides a unique context for the church to work out what it means to love one another.
Groups meet on Sundays to share a meal, pray for each other, and discuss the day’s sermon. Community groups also seek to develop their relationships outside the weekly meeting by caring for one another. The people in a community group are often the “first-responders” to whatever difficult situations may arise in the lives of the people in the group. Joining a community group is the best way to really connect to the church.
