Dear Leigh Anne,

My prayers are with you. My heart aches for you that you have lost your best friend.

Do not forget that who he is--Dustin, at his heart--is not just a concoction of neurons and cellular chemistry. Who he is--Dustin--is held preciously in the Lord's hand. Though his body is damaged, he is not gone.

Do not forget that the Lord also holds a bottle, in which he collects each tear--fear, loneliness, hope, hurt, despair, anger, love, resilient trust and faith. You are valuable to him. Your babies are valuable to him.

With Many Prayers,
Krista Work

Leigh Anne,
I worked at Furman for 4 years with InterVarsity so I knew Rob Hamby and Meg Ridley well. I heard about Dustin through Redeemer friends and wanted to let you know I'm praying for you and your family.

Leigh Anne,
You and your family have been in our thoughts and prayers daily. God has put you on my heart in a tremendous way. Many people that you do not even know are praying for you here in Butler and all over the world. God will hear these prayers. I will continue to pray for Dustin's recovery and for comfort and understanding for yourself and the children. You have always been a part of my extended family and I love you.

Leigh Anne,

I never met you or Dustin, but my husband and I attended RTS--Orlando and worked at St. Mary's after Jonathan and Lisa Riddle. We heard much about the two of you and your ministry among the youth and I guess we lived in your old house : ). I heard about Dustin through the RTS newsletter and have been lifting you up in prayer. When my husband (Elijah) was 10, he suffered a siezure that put him in a coma. The prognosis was that he probably wouldn't make it and if he did, he would be physically or mentally affected. Miraculously, he came out of his coma and quickly returned to a normal, full-functioning 10 year old boy. God is a God of miracles and can move in ways beyond our understanding. I share this story with you, only to encourage you. Ultimately, God is in control even though his hand may be very difficult to see. I pray in faith for God to work miracles for you, for Dustin, and for your family. It is amazing to see the family of God pouring out their love and prayers for your family--may the love of Christ and his children sustain you and strengthen you during this time.

You and Dustin and the children are in our prayers all through the day. Thank you for your testimony of trusting the Lord in these difficult days.

"You are my servant,
 I have chosen you and not cast you off";
 fear not, for I am with you;
 be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
 I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:9-10
