Though Dustin’s flight yesterday got delayed because of the weather, he did arrive safely in Fort Worth last night, having tolerated the flight well. Dustin is getting situated into his new facility, including getting a longer bed (the first longer bed wasn’t long enough!).
As for the rest of the family and their adjustment, Jacob and Nathan are already back in school, Meredith is wanting brownies for breakfast and Leigh Anne spent last night with her husband. Continue to pray for this period of transition wherein no one really knows what to expect.
For those of you interested in sending a note to Dustin and Leigh Anne and/or the kids, here is their address in Texas:
The Salters
PO Box 33896
Fort Worth, TX 76162
We want to continue these updates and are working on getting someone in Fort Worth to take it on. When that gets established, there will be a link here to the new website.
Do remember a few things:
- you can listen to or read Dustin’s sermon on Providence delivered 3 days before the accident
- you can donate to the RUF Campus Minister’s Crisis Relief Fund online at ruf.org (which funds will go to help with financial needs that the Salters will/do have)
- you can continue to pray: for the adjustment; for the Body of Christ to rise up in Fort Worth (as they have already done); for Dustin’s healing

Dear Leigh Ann,
I thank God that you and your family have made the trip safely.
Please know that all of us here in Marietta continue to pray for you. We are so excited that Dustin is off the trach — we are still praying that Brian will reach that day soon.
I hope that these updates will continue — we gain strength for our struggle just knowing that there is someone out there that knows how we feel.
Maybe one day Brian and Dustin can meet and hang out! What a wonderful day that would be!!!
We love you all,
Jamie Corona and Brian’s family

What a relief you made it safely home! And “be is ever so humble…” etc.–or even a nursing home if that’s what’s needed at this point.
What’s *so* encouraging is that you *could* go home and not have to go to still another unfamiliar place to get care for Dustin!
I pray for strength for everyone making this journey for you in Ft. Worth at this point. And also, that someone in Ft. Worth can set up an updated Website asap. Trust me, if those maps with all those pins are any indication, literally “The Whole World Is Watching”.
Love, Fran

MN is rejoicing that you made it back to TX safe! (We’re also all a little jealous because this morning’s wind chill was -40. Yes, that’s 40 degrees below zero.) We can’t wait until we can get down there and visit!
It will feel so much like old times again. We’re praying for Dustin’s continued healing and we’re trusting God’s Good Providence. We love you and will see you soon.
Grace and Peace to you and your family,
Eric and Jen Levenhagen

Hey Leigh,
We want you to know that we are still checking daily and are so relieved that you are home. We know that ‘coming home’ to old friends can be so comforting during difficult times. AND having such faithful new friends back in S.Caroline still praying adds to that comfort. When Dawson blew out his candles tonight (Dad and Helen were there) he made a wish. He later told me during bedtime prayer that his wish was for Nathan and Jacob and Meredith, that their Dad would soon come home because he says it’s only fair. Man, they have a way with words, don’t these wee ones?
We love you, we are praying, and we can’t wait to see all of you. fIt’s about time for one of those calls from your big brother, so we’ll check in soon.
Love you. Kiss the babies for us.

Grateful for a long bed. And praying for rest. And healing. And peace. And all good things. Still praying in Charlottesville. Love to you. GT
