Dustin’s health condition continues to remain serious. However, hospice has provided him significant relief, and he is breathing on his own.
Family members are spending good time with Dustin. Leigh Anne is thankful for and feels your prayers for Dustin, the Salter children, and their extended family.
Pray that during this time we may know more of Christ, manifest Christ, and then bring honor to Christ. We declare with Paul, “For me to live is Christ . . .” (Philippians 1:21)

Continuing to pray. I was thinking about how all the comments on this site by people all over have ministered to me in different ways and it led me to think about how Dustin is still ministering to others even now. I will continue to petition God for peace and wisdom for you in the midst of this. Tell my boys that Mrs. Amy loves them!

Leigh Anne,
Sorry to just now be posting. I have been keeping up with prayer requests through this website and through James and Vickie. I wake up even in the middle of the night praying for you and family!! We KNOW God is still in control, even when life seems out of control. This verse came to mind:
Isaiah 26:3 ”
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Thee.”
I’m praying God’s peace for you and family!
Love in Christ,

We, too, have been “praying in the night watch” and every hour is a “sweet hour of prayer” for all of you Salters, both immediate and extended. Nothing’s been mentioned on this board about parents or sibs, but I’ve prayed for them as well. Not only that you all hold onto each other, both now and later, but they, too, have people comforting and ministering to them.
Love, Fran

Leigh Anne,
Prayed for a good (okay, we’ll settle for better!) night of sleep for you last night, after Thursday’s 2 hours!
To quote someone we both like, “God has been faithful; He will be again” and again and again and again and again
“his loving compassion knows no end”

I live in Lakeland, FL and my son is a student at Furman University. We’ve been praying for you and Dustin since the accident. I was moved by Dustin’s sermon on God’s providence and want to share a poem from a devotional I read today on the same subject.
“Shining out of Darkness”
God moves in a mysterious way,
His wonders to perform;
He plans his footstep in the sea
And rides upon the storm.
Deep in unfathonable mines
Of never failing skill,
He treasures up his bright designs.
And works his sovereign will.
Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,
But trust him for his grace;
Behind a frowning providence,
He hides a smiling face.
~William Cowper (1731-1800)

Hi Leigh Anne,
I’m a student at MTSU and have been going to RUF for a couple of years.
Fritz told me of your husband’s accident and I just wanted to let you
know that I am keeping you and your family in my prayers, and I pray that
Dustin will recover from his accident.
God bless!

Dear Leigh Anne,
Our hearts are heavy having to leave you on Saturday to return to Alabama. We longed to stay by Dustin’s side and yours. But having to leave was bitter sweet. For now we can put faces with the names of your amazing friends from Ft. Worth. We realize that your friends are amazing and we take comfort in knowing that Karen, Shelly and Scott, Tim and Emily, Bryan and Janette, Holly, Sherry, the Weisers, Big “Mer”, and so many, many, many, many more are there for you and the kids. Even though we can’t be there around the clock like we wished we could, we know that you have so many that are lifting you up and have Dustin’s comfort and your well being first on their list of priorities. We already miss you so much. Not a minute goes by without you and Dustin and the kids at the forefront of our thoughts. Know that we have you in our hearts and prayers and we will continue to speak with you every day.
We love you,
Michelle and David
