My memories of him from our seminary days are that he was a remarkably good man and that he was often the first one to leave study groups so he could go be with you. Please know that you and your children are in my prayers as you say goodbye to him and learn how to live life without him there. In Christ, Monica Hi Leigh Anne,

We are so grateful for your testimony, for your husband's words and the beautiful submission to God's sovereignty that your family has demonstrated. I praise God for the experience of meeting His people at His throne in intercession, for the encouragement all of these brothers and sisters in Christ have been to my faith. May your children always feel the great honor that such a man was their father, and that God gave them such a woman for a mother. We will not stop praying for you, though we have never met. In such a tragedy, only our great God could bring about glory and blessing by the testimony of the faith of your husband, yourself, and all these believers in Him. With much love, Wendy Tamminga for the Tamminga family Gig Harbor, WA Leigh Anne,

He is rejoicing b/c he is now in the presence of his GREAT LORD! Although he will miss you and the children very much, he knows God has great plans for you all. Continue to serve out Lord Jesus Christ and be strong with the knowledge you have! You are a strong woman of great faith!! We will always be praying for you and your family! I loved Mr. Slater so much in such the short time I was blessed to know him as my teacher! Lifting you up always in the name of Jesus! Be Blessed! You ARE highly favored!! Much love! So many of us hoped and prayed that he would eventually emerge from this semi-conscious state, but that was not to be. I've never met any of you, except, perhaps, for Katie Woodard in Greenville on my visit last spring. But if she's a representative sample, oh, Leigh Anne, what a treasure you've had, both in Greenville and Ft. Worth. And, step by step, no matter how hard, you got him home. And now he's in his true home and healed at last. Not much comfort, and I don't pretend it is, but at least he went straight to Heaven. My prayers will not stop for you and your family as you raise your precious children. May God be your strength during this difficult time. May the words of this hymn bring comfort to you. My hope is built on nothing less Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame, But wholly trust in Jesus’ Name. On Christ the solid Rock I stand, All other ground is sinking sand; All other ground is sinking sand. When darkness seems to hide His face, I rest on His unchanging grace. In every high and stormy gale, My anchor holds within the veil. His oath, His covenant, His blood, Support me in the whelming flood. When all around my soul gives way, He then is all my Hope and Stay. When He shall come with trumpet sound, Oh may I then in Him be found. Dressed in His righteousness alone, Faultless to stand before the throne. Love in Christ, Rachel Caldwell Leigh Anne,

We were part of Christ Presbyterian Church in Richmond, Indiana for 5 years. And just recently moved to Maine. When we heard about the accident in November, we talked about it as a family and prayed for each member of your family by name. This clearly made an impact on our 2 1/2 year old son because since November when we first prayed for you, from time to time before his bedtime prayers (without our prompting) Colby will ask if he can pray for "Mr. Salter who hit his head". Whenever he makes this request we pray together right away--because I know that the Holy Spirit could even be prompting his little mind to pray for you and Dustin when you most need the prayers. Colby made this request to pray for Mr. Salter tonight at about 8pm. We did of course--we prayed for God to heal him and for peace, comfort, and rest for your family. After turning out the lights I came out to check the website for an update, and read that just tonight Dustin had passed away. I was amazed again at how the Holy Spirit had prompted my almost-3 year old son to pray for your family at a critical time of need. In a sense, God has granted Dustin the most complete healing--that which we all long expectantly for one day. And we will continue to pray for you Leigh Anne and your children in the days to come--for peace, comfort, rest, hope, and strength to go on. I wanted you to know . . . the Holy Spirit has orchestrated so many prayers to be offered on your behalf--a countless number from the hearts of unimagined people--children--all over the world. And I'm sure he will not stop now. . . May you feel those prayers lifting you up to the Father, and Him carrying you in this time. ~Bess Leigh Anne and Family~

The Body of Christ has lost a true warrior and we all suffer with Leigh Anne, Nathan, Jacob and Meredith. Our thoughts are definitely not His thoughts as we hoped and prayed this outcome would have been completely different. It is hard to bear. Leigh Anne, you have been a help meet in the truest sense of the word and have brought great honor to womanhood. I cannot express to you my admiration and respect....you are greatly to be praised. I wish I could have known Dustin....what a mighty man. Generations to come will hear his prophetic words and hearts will be transformed. May God guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus and grant you the Peace of God which passes ALL understanding. And, Lord, please guard the hearts of these precious children. If you had not loved much, you would not suffer much. Thank you,Leigh Anne Love, Cheryl Babington Heaven’s gain leaves a gaping hole in all of our hearts.
