Youth ministry is the coordinated effort of parents, pastors and other people in the church to teach the next generation “that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments” (Ps 78.7). Our youth ministry is structured around a team of youth leaders made up of parents, pastors and other people in the church. Each program is rooted in this team and grows out of Redeemer’s vision to make disciples who are resting in the good news of Jesus,
restoring relationships and renewing our world.
‣ Youth Group is a weekly gathering of teens for gospel-focused Bible teaching and relevant application. We want our teens to see the big picture of the Bible and to know the One it reveals.
‣ Mentoring is an 8-week program in the Spring and Fall. Participating teens are paired with an adult mentor who commits to meet with the teen weekly to work through an assigned book or topic.
‣Contact Work is simply the relationship-building time that youth leaders invest in the lives of our teens (in person, by phone, online or in a group). Youth leaders always seek to communicate with parents whenever they get together with a teen one-to-one.
‣ Campus Teams are made up of teens who go to school together. These groups commit to pray regularly for their peers and teachers.
‣ Service events are done on a periodic basis and will often dovetail with Redeemer’s mercy & missions ministry. The teens are be encouraged to look for ways to serve the church and community.
‣ Events & Retreats are designed to be a bridge for unbelievers to make their way into the church and provide a unique atmosphere for spiritual contemplation for believers. Retreats often serve as turning points and milestones in a young person’s life.
